IRONVEIL WIKI · GROUP CHALLENGES

Dynamic Champions

The original four Champions and Varkhul use Ironveil’s dynamic encounter system. Each scales from a solo fight up to ten active players, with more mechanics as the group grows.

FOUR ENCOUNTERS

Choose the fight you want

All four have three phases. Their attacks warn you before they land, and the new encounters add objectives and positioning choices rather than only increasing health.

Rift Tyrant as seen in game, with its actual colour

THE ORIGINAL RIFT CHAMPION

Rift Tyrant

Classification: World Boss

A three-phase encounter built around visible ground warnings, changing attack patterns and a final chained assault.

Vorath, the Shadow Warden as seen in game, with its actual colour

SHADOW · UNDEAD

Vorath, the Shadow Warden

Classification: World Boss

Shadow Hunt marks a player before Vorath moves in. Soul Prison can be destroyed to free its captive, including when fighting alone. Eternal Eclipse turns parts of the arena into temporary shadow hazards.

Khaz'Rath, the Abyssal Fury as seen in game, with its actual colour

ABYSS · NATURE

Khaz'Rath, the Abyssal Fury

Classification: World Boss

Abyssal Charge announces a straight-line rush. Roots and thorn warnings mark nature-themed impacts within five tiles. Fractures and summoned adds add pressure, while Unchained Fury quickens the final phase. The corpse contains five of each of the six wood types.

Xal'Veth, the Veilbreaker as seen in game, with its actual colour

DIMENSIONAL · RIFT

Xal'Veth, the Veilbreaker

Classification: World Boss

Rift Walker steps through portals and strikes in a frontal arc. Tears in Reality create attackable Veil Rifts. During Collapse of the Veil, find the clearly marked Safe Rift or leave the danger area.

DYNAMIC CHAMPION

Varkhul, the Bloodwing

Varkhul uses the same participant tracking, dynamic encounter scaling and protected reward delivery as the other Ironveil Dynamic Champions.

MechanicWhat to watch
Crimson BreathA breath cone reaches out in front of Varkhul. Move out of its path.
Rending TalonsA struck target can keep bleeding after the initial hit. Each affected target has its own bleed.
Bloodwing DiveLeave the warned landing area before the dive impacts.
Crimson TempestFive expanding waves leave burning ground. Watch the next ring and avoid lingering in the fire.
Blood ShacklesA pulsing link connects two players. Move away from your linked partner before it resolves.
Brood of the BloodwingAdditional creatures join the encounter; manage them while watching the boss warnings.
Air whirlwindsThree vortexes normally; six while Varkhul is below 30% health
Crimson splitSix encounter copies; they are objectives, not six extra independent boss-reward pools
RewardsVarkhul uses its own 2× reward multiplier and delivers gold as Gold Tickets. The original four Champions’ table below should not be read as Varkhul’s unmodified reward table.

Ground telegraphs and moving hazards warn before impact. Pet and summon contributions belong to their owner. Being in a party does not replace the personal reward requirements below.

PARTICIPATION

How to earn personal rewards

The same requirements apply to every player, including PKs. Killing another player earns no boss contribution.

RequirementWhat counts
Damage or supportDeal at least 3% of the final total boss and encounter-objective damage, OR restore at least 25 HP of encounter damage to other active participants. Self-healing, overhealing and healing PvP damage do not count.
Join the fight in timeSpend at least 10 seconds present and make your first real damage or healing contribution while the boss still has at least 20% health.
Stay activeFor normal delivery, finish alive on the same facet, within 18 tiles of the boss, with a real contribution in the last 25 seconds.
Pets and summonsTheir damage counts for their owner. They do not earn an extra reward slot.

The 3% threshold is checked against the final damage total. Reaching it early does not guarantee a reward if your share falls below it later. Healing support can qualify without dealing damage, provided all other requirements are met.

REWARD PROTECTION

Your earned share stays yours

Earned shares remain protected during the recovery window. Another player cannot collect your share by killing you.

SituationCurrent rule
You die or temporarily leaveIf you were contributing within the previous 25 seconds and had met the participation requirements, your reward can be reserved when the boss dies within 2 minutes of the interruption.
Recovering your rewardReturn alive on the same facet, within 18 tiles of the boss’s final death position, and use [RaidBossClaim within 10 minutes of the kill. The corpse does not need to remain there.
Someone kills other contributorsTheir reserved gold, material and essence shares do not transfer to the survivor. A forfeited global armor or Power Scroll award is not rerolled for someone else.
You miss the deadlineYour reserved reward expires. It is not dropped on the ground or reassigned to another player. Repeated deaths, resurrection or targeting do not extend protection without a new real contribution.

Recovery rewards are held until you return; they are not sent remotely to your backpack or bank while you are dead or away. New rewards left pending because both containers are full follow the same return requirement and ten-minute deadline. Make room in your backpack or bank before claiming.

Normal PvP and the looting of player corpses remain unchanged. This protection applies to earned Dynamic Champion rewards.

SHARED CHAMPION POLICY

Power Scroll rewards

The table applies to Rift Tyrant, Vorath, Khaz’Rath and Xal’Veth. The tier reflects participation over the fight; simply arriving at the end does not raise it.

TierPlayersPower Scroll

2215% for +5; a successful drop has a 2% upgrade to +20
3320% for +5; a successful drop has a 3% upgrade to +20
4425% for +10; a successful drop has a 4% upgrade to +20
5530% for +10; a successful drop has a 5% upgrade to +20
6635% for +10; a successful drop has a 6% upgrade to +20
77One guaranteed +15
88One guaranteed +15
99One guaranteed +20
1010One guaranteed +20, plus a separate 5% personal chance for +20 for each qualified player

Qualified participants who meaningfully contribute to the encounter can receive rewards. The shared policy also provides gold, special materials, Boss Essence, a personal chance at Artisan Blueprints, and one global armor roll. Power Scrolls and other personal awards are delivered safely to eligible players rather than appearing as ordinary boss-corpse loot.
