City Factions

Choose a city team. Help it grow. Defend its flag.

A faction is simply your city team. You join one of four teams, help its cities and take part in evening sieges. This guide explains every step with ordinary words.

Start Here: What Is a Faction?

The one-sentence answer

A faction is your city team. Your team keeps cities healthy, fights other city teams during sieges and earns cosmetic rewards.

  1. Pick one of the four city teams

Choose Yew, Trinsic, Serpent's Hold or Vesper. Britain and Moonglow are neutral cities and are not factions.

  2. Find that city’s Faction Stone in Felucca

Stand within two tiles and double-click the stone. This is where you join and perform faction actions.

  3. Press Join

Joining normally costs 2,500 gold. Keep the full amount in your backpack or the full amount in your bank; two partial amounts are not combined. A landless faction waives the fee, although the join check still requires you to have that amount available.

  4. Open your dashboard

Type [PG or .pg, then open FACTION. This shows your team, city status, Personal Silver and the War Map.

Before you join

  • A Young character cannot join yet.
  • Characters on the same account may join independently, including different factions. Each character can belong to only one faction at a time.
  • A faction may temporarily refuse new members when population balancing requires it.
  • Joining a faction does not change the 720.0 skill cap or your stat caps.
  • Faction Level is separate from PvM Level. Monster XP and PvM Talents do not raise it.

The three live taxes

TaxNormal live valueWhen it applies
Joining2,500 gold onceWhen the character successfully joins a faction that controls a city.
NPC sale5% of the saleWhen a member sells to an NPC inside a city controlled by that member’s faction.
Housing500 gold per owned house every 7 daysTaken from the member’s bank. Three unpaid cycles remove the character from the faction.

Tax gold becomes Town Silver in the controlled city treasury. If your faction controls no city, the joining fee and weekly house tax are not collected, and missed house-tax cycles do not count. The join check still asks you to have the normal 2,500 gold available.

Choose a City Team

Every faction has one home city and one simple strategic strength. These are city-management effects. They do not give your character a hidden combat bonus.

FactionEasy way to remember itLive city effect
YewThe supply citySupply is lost 15% more slowly in every city your faction controls.
TrinsicThe repair cityCivic Integrity recovers by 7 points per hour outside a siege.
Serpent's HoldThe armament cityArmament is lost 15% more slowly in every city your faction controls.
VesperThe treasury cityValid NPC-sale and housing taxes add 10% more Town Silver.

If a faction controls more than one city, each extra city adds 15% more Supply and Armament decay. A large kingdom therefore needs more care.

Help Your City Without Fighting

Use the City Faction Stone in a city controlled by your faction. Think of Supply as food and everyday stock. Think of Armament as military readiness.

Armament donations

DonationArmament points
Iron ingot, Board or Leather2 per item
Supported Common Ironveil equipment50 per piece
Supported Uncommon Ironveil equipment100 per piece

Your items are protected from waste

The stone accepts only the amount that fits in the city store. If the store is full, the extra material is not consumed. At the daily Personal Silver limit, the game asks before accepting a donation that pays no more Silver.

Each store holds at most 10,000 points. Supply helps the guards' health and physical power and normally loses 500 points per day. Armament helps their armor and resistances and normally loses 300 points per day. City effects and extra-city pressure can change that decay.

Faction Level: 1 to 50

Faction Level records how much your character has helped the city war. It does not spend your skill points and does not make PvM Talents work against players.

XP needed for the next level = 500 + (150 × your current Faction Level)

The maximum is Level 50. Level 10 is required before a member may stand as a Commander candidate.

Sieges, One Step at a Time

The normal rotation selects one city each evening from 21:00 to 23:00 Europe/Rome: Yew, Trinsic, Serpent's Hold and Vesper, then it repeats. A city under Consolidation Protection is skipped. Check [PG → FACTION for the authoritative next live window, including any staff-scheduled change.

  1. Enter the active city

Members of city factions may attack enemy faction members and siege guards inside that active siege.

  2. Defeat the city guards

Enemy guard kills reduce Civic Integrity. The sigil cannot be taken until Integrity reaches zero.

  3. Take the sigil

An enemy faction member stands beside it and double-clicks it. No Stealing skill or Stealing roll is required.

  4. Hold it inside the city for 15 minutes

The carrier must stay alive, connected and inside that city. Members of the same attacking faction may pass the sigil without restarting the timer.

  5. Capture the city

A successful hold seals one snapshot of the city. Nothing is transferred yet. The highest-ranked eligible attacker must choose Annex or Sack at the city stone.

The sigil returns home and the hold fails if the carrier dies, disconnects, leaves the city or facet, loses the sigil, leaves the faction, or the siege closes.

Only faction teams control a siege

Unfactioned Blue and Red players, and their pets, cannot damage or heal faction participants inside the active siege or across its boundary. Faction pets and summons count for their owner. Outside the active siege, normal map and notoriety rules return.

How to qualify for a siege reward

You must stay in the faction and be present in the siege city when rewards are settled. You also need at least 30 seconds between your first and last activity, no activity gap longer than five minutes, and one of these:

  • 100 damage to enemy players; or
  • 100 damage to siege guards; or
  • 75 effective healing after hostile damage; or
  • 60 seconds carrying the sigil.

Siege rewards have an account-wide daily cap of 500 Personal Silver. After a successful capture, the highest-ranked eligible member of the attacking faction has up to 24 hours to make one choice at the captured city's Faction Stone:

ChoiceWhat the attacker receivesWhat happens to the city
AnnexNo stock is transferred to the attacker. The attacker controls the city. It keeps 70% of the captured Town Silver and 75% of the captured Supply and Armament.
Sack40% of the captured Town Silver, Supply and Armament moves toward the attacker’s home economy. The previous controller keeps the city. It retains 30% of captured Town Silver and 40% of captured Supply and Armament.
No choice before 24 hoursNothing. The city returns to its previous controller with no conquest settlement.

The snapshot is settled only once. Post-capture tax receipts are not included. The captured city receives 72 hours of Consolidation Protection before another ordinary siege.

Personal Silver and Rewards

Three things with similar names

  • Personal Silver belongs to your game account. You spend it on cosmetic rewards.
  • Town Silver belongs to a city treasury. The Commander spends it on city services.
  • Supply and Armament are city stores. They strengthen guards and slowly decay.

Accepted Supply pays 5 Personal Silver per 100 points. Accepted Armament pays 8 per 100 points. Fractions are remembered, so small valid donations are not lost. Economy donations can pay at most 250 Personal Silver per account per day; the separate siege cap is 500 per account per day.

Physical rewards are Blessed, account-bound, use the faction's color and give no combat stats. They remain usable if the character later leaves the faction. Cosmetic mounts use a reusable shrink item, normal mount stamina, remain with their rider at death and cannot be used in PvP events. The Faction Veteran title is shown only while the character using it belongs to a city faction; an active Arena-Proven title takes priority.

Your Faction Dashboard

Type [PG or .pg, then choose FACTION. The dashboard tells you what is happening. It does not perform city actions; use the City Faction Stone for joining, donations, shopping, elections and Commander choices.

Commander and Season

Faction members elect one Commander. The election normally has a five-day pending period, one-day campaign and three-day vote. A candidate needs Faction Level 10, there can be at most ten candidates, and each account receives one vote. The Commander manages city money; the role does not grant power over other players.

Commander serviceTown SilverEffect

Armory Shipment15,000Adds 1,000 Armament; 72-hour cooldown.
Emergency Repairs20,000Adds 25 Civic Integrity outside a siege; seven-day cooldown.

A faction that loses its homeland can use its separate Reconquest Fund to open a two-hour reconquest window. The price is 20,000 Silver with no controlled city, 35,000 with one, and 50,000 with two or more. A landless faction that cannot pay may use the free home-city emergency route once every seven days.

Advanced: how the 90-day season score works

A controlled city adds up to 10 score per hour, scaled by that city's popularity. Capturing gives 500, annexing gives 250 and liberating gives 500. At season end the result is announced and archived, then scores reset. The current system gives no separate prize merely for finishing first.

Leaving and Common Questions

How do I leave?

Use your faction's City Faction Stone and choose Resign. Leaving takes three days. Until the timer finishes, you are still recorded as a member who is resigning. Your Faction Level is not erased, and account-wide Personal Silver remains on the account.

Does joining make every enemy faction member attackable everywhere?

No. The old global native faction-conflict mode is disabled. The special faction combat relationship is enforced inside an active city siege. Normal world PvP rules still apply everywhere else.

Do ordinary faction kills pay Silver?

No. Personal Silver comes from accepted economy help and qualified siege participation, not from repeatedly killing another faction member.

Are the old faction traps, power items and equipment imbuing active?

No. The old native faction traps, power items, free join robe and faction equipment imbuing are retired on Ironveil.

What should I remember?

Join one city. Help its stores. Check [PG. Enter the announced siege. Stay active and present. Spend Personal Silver on cosmetics.
