MANA RECOVERY

Leather and Studded halve total mana regeneration

Wearing even one Leather or Studded armor piece reduces your total mana recovery rate by 50%. This applies to passive recovery and to the faster recovery while actively Meditating, after the other regeneration bonuses are calculated. A normal recovery interval therefore takes twice as long.

Leather still allows the full Meditation skill contribution; Studded first reduces that contribution to 50%. The final armor penalty then applies to the resulting total rate. These are separate steps, so Studded is not simply equivalent to Leather.

How It Works

Recover mana, the energy spent on spells and many abilities. You can deliberately enter a meditative state, and the skill also contributes to normal mana recovery.

Power Scroll and cap information

Maximum skill: 100. This skill has no active Power Scroll. It cannot train beyond 100 under the current rules.

Understanding effective skill

Which value counts? Mana recovery uses effective Meditation and CURRENT Intelligence, including active stat bonuses. PvM supporting power uses BASE Meditation, up to 100 for Arcane. It does not contribute to Bard power.

How to use it, step by step

If a step says to use a skill, open your character window, choose Skills and use the button beside that skill. If it says to use a tool, double-click the tool in your backpack. Passive benefits work automatically.

  1. Leave War Mode.
  2. Use Meditation from Skills and wait for mana to recover.
  3. Watch for actions that break meditation, and consider armour that permits good mana recovery.

What changes as your skill rises

Read the conditions above each table. A percentage may describe a chance, a damage component or a multiplier: those are different things. The other values stay fixed unless the table says otherwise.

What the skill affects: Mana recovery uses effective Meditation and CURRENT Intelligence, including active stat bonuses. PvM supporting power uses BASE Meditation, up to 100 for Arcane. It does not contribute to Bard power.

Detailed formulas and comparison tables

Mana recovery with Intelligence 100 and Focus 0

No equipped armor, equipment mana regeneration or transformation. Time per one mana point; active means a successful meditative state is already running.

Armour allowance for the Meditation contribution

The most restrictive equipped piece controls the result. These values describe the Meditation contribution before the final Leather/Studded penalty, which halves total passive and active mana recovery. Focus, equipment mana regeneration and the active Meditation cap remain separate.

Armour familyMeditation contribution
Leather100%
Studded50%
Ringmail0%
Chainmail0%
Bone0%
Plate0%

These are recovery rates, not the chance to enter meditation. Different Intelligence or Focus changes the result.

Studded preserves exactly half of the Meditation contribution before the final armor penalty. Mage Armor and Spell Channeling do not bypass the Leather/Studded total mana-recovery penalty. Spell Channeling is not an obtainable or usable casting exception on Ironveil.

Easy examples

Refilling before the next fight

You have spent most of your mana. Leave War Mode and use Meditation. Mana returns over time; the button does not instantly refill the bar.

Advanced notes

Things to remember

  • The current active skill rejects War Mode. Armour and equipment still affect the recovery calculation.
  • Meditation is optional for Bard mana recovery. It has no Bard power target and does not affect Bard technique strength.
Training and Skill Progression

TRAINING / SKILL PROGRESSION

One recommended activity for each skill range, with a short note on what you need.

Before you start: set Meditation to Up and leave room under the shared 720-point total. Set an unwanted skill to Down if the total is full.

NPC training: when the trainer listed for this skill offers a lesson, the fixed price is 300 gold and the lesson can reach 50.0 if both the individual and total caps have room.

Training area: supported Academy actions receive 5× normal gain through 80.0. An action still needs to run a real skill check; the Academy bonus cannot make an automatic or blocked action train.

Recommended training

Repeat the single activity listed for your level. These are practical training choices; the ranges are recommendations, not new unlock requirements.

Rules and numbers

The active skill requires you to leave War Mode. Mana recovery also depends on Intelligence, Meditation, Focus, equipment and whether you are actively meditating. Leather keeps the full Meditation contribution, Studded keeps half, and Ringmail, Chainmail, Bone and Plate provide none. After other calculations, wearing any Leather or Studded armor halves total passive and active mana recovery once. Arcane supporting-skill power uses Meditation up to 100. Meditation is optional for Bard mana recovery and does not determine Bard power.

Listed amounts describe the stated conditions. Equipment, target rules, damage, healing limits and other effects can change the final result. An example of a chance is never a promise of the same outcome on every attempt.
